I received a very nice package of goodies from Mueller’s Pasta so I could try one of these meals at home.  Here is a great recipe my family loved and  I got from the Mueller’s Pasta website and wanted to share with you.

Creole Turkey Pasta – Perfect for any family meal or gathering, this hearty and delicious meal is a great slow-cooker dish.

Prep Time:  10 Minutes

Cook Time:  6 to 8 hours


8 oz of Mueller’s Whole Wheat Penne

2 stalks celery, thinly sliced

1 medium sweet onion, chopped

1 each red and yellow bell peppers, chopped

8 oz fresh of frozen okra

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 1/2 lbs boneless turkey meat, cut into 1 inc pieces

1 1/2 cups sodium reduced chicken broth

1 can (19 oz) of tomatoes with chili seasonings, undrained

2 tsp Louisiana hot pepper sauce

2 tsp dried thyme leaves

1 tsp dried basil leaves

1/2 tsp salt

In 4 to 6 quart slow cooker, combine celery, onion, red and yellow peppers, okra and garlic.  Spread turkey on top.

Add chicken broth, tomatoes, hot pepper sauce, thyme, basil and salt.  Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until turkey and vegetables are very tender.  Stir in dry pasta and cook on High for 30 minute or until pasa is tender.  Makes 8 servings.
