Sausage Kabobs On The Grill

Cooking is NOT my forte, but we do what must be done. I look forward to summer though because we do most of the cooking outside and have fresh food from the garden. This year the vegetables will have to come from the Farmer’s Market though. After years and years of having what I consider to be a large garden we’re letting the soil recover and are planting rye (don’t ask me why hubby just said it had to be done).

One of our family’s favorite meals is Sausage Kabobs. They’re quick and easy and don’t make a huge mess.

  • 2 pkgs of smoked sausage
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 1 med onion
  • 1 pkg of fresh mushrooms
  • 4 tomatoes or a pkg of cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup of italian dressing
  • bamboo skewers or metal

If you’re using bambook skewers soak them water for about an hour. Chunk the sausage, bell peppers, onion, and tomatoes. Cut fresh mushrooms in half. Put ingredients into a large ziplock baggie and add italian dressing.
Taking 2 bamboo skewers alternate sausage and vegetables. Note that using 2 skewers keeps the food from falling off or turning to the side it wants to go. Cook on the grill for about 15 minutes alternating the sides. I use the top shelf of our bbq.
