I love Winter and snow and that means that on the first day of Spring, I’m looking forward to birds chirping, some sun, and snow melting with the smell of mud drying in the air.  Nope not today.  The kids are home from school and college with a snow day (Daughter is a snarling beast this morning).  Yesterday we blew three foot drifts out of the driveway only to wake up to bigger drifts that need blown out again.  I’m not sure I can even adequately describe this.

Snow drift against our barn.

You might be able to see our barn man-door and that this particular drift is almost as high.  Did I mention it’s cold?  We need to bring wood in and we are going to have to use the snowmobile and a sled to get it.  Our wood is around the side of the barn.  We usually have a week or two worth on our front porch but we’ve run low.  Time to put on some snowpants.

This is my poor old doggy trying to get out to the back yard. This was yesterday and yesterday there was less snow. Today, we’re going to have to shovel his area.

I’m thinking today my dog is freaking out.  Being blind he’s not expecting to have to wade through drifts.  Anyone else get an Arctic Blast?
