Do You Know About RED Friday’s?

RED Friday

Only recently did I learn what RED Friday’s were all about, well in September when my son left for basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood. Boy oh boy, did I learn a lot, in fact – I’m still learning.

This is journey that begins with what you think isn’t much of a deal … until that moment arrives and there’s no turning back. That’s when the emotional roller-coaster begins. It’s all worth it when you’re sitting and watching one of the most amazing Graduation Ceremonies as your child is “pinned” and is at that moment considered a Soldier.

Yes, it’s that deep.

Now, onto this RED Friday thing. I had never heard of this until Sept., it’s really very simple.

Remember
Everyone
Deployed

I’ll be telling all of you more about the beginning of this journey as time goes on. I’m either going to leave you bored to tears or clinging to the edge of your seat.

Do you already or will you be participating? Am I the only one that didn’t know about this?

I did know about RED. My friends son and my nephew were just shipped to Afghanistan. Sadly it seems we’re sending more troops over instead of bringing them home. RED is a great reminder to think and pray for our boys and girls deployed.

I actually was in Ft. Leonard Wood for basic training back in 2007. I was 37 at the time. It was very challenging. I love RED Fridays. Makes you take the time to think of someone that you know personally or just all those servicemen/women who serve our country. Keep them in prayer.

I did not know, but it is an awesome idea and we should all practice it!
