Saturday Morning Nightmare Even For This Winter Witch!

While I love Winter, and my husband gave me my nickname because of it, enough is enough!  Saturday morning I woke up to a mess of snow.  Note the look out my kitchen window.  Now it wasn’t that the snow blew and covered the window, NO!  The snow was drifted and up past the kitchen window.  It was also up against our slider.

This is the most snowfall in a Winter that I can remember since I first moved to this street when I was 4 years old.  I remember the snowbanks above and beyond the height trucks building our new home.  There is a photo floating around of my husband standing on one of those snowbanks and being a good foot or more above the height of his dad’s Jeep.

Saturday morning Neal and the boys went out and cleared all the snow.  Blew out the upper and lower driveways.  The went and helped my parents who live next door with theirs.  Then moved on to my mother in laws.  By the time they got home at 3:00 it was time to go to Quinn’s basketball banquet.  They were all dog tired and I love them for all the clearing they did.

The amount of snow we’ve received this year is unreal.  We have not only gotten large amounts but it comes with blowing and drifting.  We’ve also had the coldest winter we’ve ever had.  “Polar Vortex”, I don’t really like that term it’s new and space age to me.  Frigid is more like it!

I feel your pain. Our last storm was 21 inches.. This winter is a never-ending battle! We had a 2 day melt here, now there’s about 4 inches of ice covering the driveway. Spring is just around the corner though!!

I am a snow addict. I wish I lived there. Makes me want to cook.

I’m terrified we’re going to run out of wood this year. I even bought double our normal loads but it makes me nervous to see the pile dwindling so fast. Had I not bought extra we would be out and up the creek.
