Organize Your Closet And Find Designer Pieces On Walk In My Closet

Remember Cher Horowitz’s closet in the movie “Clueless”? Her entire digitally-catalogued closet was a dream for women everywhere back in 1995, and almost 20 years later we can now have a virtual wardrobe like Cher so we never again have to struggle with finding clothes in our closet, or forgetting what we even have in our closets.

With new applications and platforms cropping up all over the internet on a daily basis, sets itself apart from the rest by providing a host of features in addition to being a highly stylized catalogue of your clothing and accessory collections. The French-born, LA-based design director of Joe’s Jeans and wife of founder Joe Dahan, Ambre Dahan, along with Amandine Rohmer, founded the site based on the unique narrative that each clothing item has a story to tell. As our tastes and styles change over the years, along with our life experiences and memories, our closets reflect those changes and those life experiences too.

The Walk in my closet site allows you to photograph your clothes and accessories, cataloguing them and creating a virtual inventory online as well as creating wish list of pieces that are available for sale in their Shop section. Those looking for inspiration and current trends will find it in the  many mood boards on the website. If you’re concerned with publicly showing your luxury pieces to members, the privacy settings can be set to keep your closet private, for your eyes only. It’s so much easier to plan your looks and outfits when you can see them all on one place.

Fashion bloggers, style icons and fashion insiders come from all over the globe and the website aims to bring together the fashion community online. Apart from giving members a glimpse into their wardrobe, the bonus is that these fashionistas also offer their pre-owned items up for grabs so you could get your hands on a vintage, designer piece that is no longer on sale elsewhere. For anyone who has ever gotten into an eBay bidding war and eventually not even getting the item after all the time and effort spent, you’ll appreciate the simplicity of purchasing new and pre-owned designer pieces on this site. Some of the cool stuff on the site include Isabel Marant wedge sneakers, Giambattista Valli dresses and Pierre Hardy sandals.

One of the more exciting parts of the site is the travel aspect where you can organize your outfits for a getaway or trip. If you are stuck for ideas as to what to wear for a particular occasion, the other style maven members on the site can offer suggestions with their own packing lists. You no longer have to scribble notes on what to bring on holiday; now you can browse your entire closet and create an organized list of things that you want to pack.

The multifaceted Walk in my closet is an ambitious and beautifully designed website that brings some great tools for anyone wanting to manage and organize their closets as well as finding great designer pieces to add to their collection.

I know I am way to unstylish and cheap to appreciate this but I think my budding fashionista daughter will be totally into it in a few years. What a great idea!
