Family Fun and Travel – Ohio State Parks #OSPL14

Maumee Bay Lodge

I recently attended my first press trip as a plus one with Kerri from Momma of 4 Cutiez. What an amazing event and I can’t wait to share with you what I saw and learned. We visited Maumee Bay, Mohican Bay, and Salt Fork in the Ohio State Parks.

Xanterra Parks & Resorts is a global diversified travel & hospitality company that runs the lodges, resorts, and conference centers. They are Hospitality’s Leader in Environmental Sustainability™, keeping the Ohio State park lodges running efficiently and smoothly for the perfect vacation. They organize activities, food, and events (Hunting Big Foot!).

Personally visiting these sites makes me realize the work that goes into making sure you and your family have a fun and entertaining vacation, while learning about nature. I live in Michigan and have visited Maumee on a regular basis because my grandparents lived 10 miles out. I NEVER knew Maumee Bay was in a Ohio State Park. I didn’t know Ohio had state parks that were FREE, yes FREE to enter and use.

The pools and other facilities available are open to everyone for a nominal fee, and you don’t have to be staying in the park or lodge to use them. To me this opens up a whole new world of exploration for my family. Things I never thought we could do or enjoy are with in a days drive. We can get in touch with nature, golf, canoe, kayak, fish, or even hang out at the pool. The lodges have game rooms for the kids and restaurants with delicious food everyone will love.  I would love staying in the lodges but I think my boys and husband would enjoy the cabins.  Stay tuned for more detailed travel posts!

Congrats on your first press trip. How cool is that the state parks are free to get in. Down here we have to pay to get in. Looks like you will be having many new adventures soon.

All of the Midwest states have great state parks. People should try to take more advantage of them!

Scott, we have great state parks here in Michigan too but we have to pay to use them. I’m impressed that the Ohio State Parks are free to enter. There are so many fun things to do.
