Better Than Chicken and Dumplings
3 to 5 chicken breasts
1/4 cup margarine
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup milk
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups chicken broth
Boil chicken until done. Remove chicken breasts from broth and set on plate to cool. Save broth.
Melt margarine and pour into 9 by 13-inch baking pan. Tear chicken breasts into pieces and layer on top of margarine. Mix flour and milk; pour over chicken. Mix soup and chicken broth; pour over chicken. Do not stir. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes, or until top is brown.
Chicken and Dumplings are such a wonderful comfort food. My grandmother made the best in the world. And she died before I was able to learn how to make them from her. This recipe looks so similar, I will have to try! Thanks for sharing!
