The music world has been rocked with death lately. It started with the deaths of Lemmy of Motorhead, Natalie Cole, David Bowie and now Glenn Frey. None of these people were old by todays standards and it’s a shame that we lost them all too soon. Each of these people brought something different to the musical table and will be missed.
Glenn Frey, co founder of the great band the Eagles made musical magic as a solo artist as well as with the Eagles. While I didn’t know he was native to Michigan it doesn’t surprise me because he was great friends with another Michigan native, Bob Seger. Glen Frey wasn’t only a muscian but an actor and artist as well.
He will probably be most remembered as a member of the group the Eagles. One of the best selling bands of all time with songs like Hotel California, Desperado, Tequila Sunrise. They earned six Grammy Awards and many others.
In his solo career he had hits like The Heat is On, Smuggler’s Blues and You Belong To The City. All of which are well known hits today as well as in the 80s when they were at their peak. Glen Frey also guest starred on Miami Vice and Nash Bridges.
Glen Frey will be sorely missed by both solo fans and Eagle’s fans. The music world has lost another iconic figure.
