Raise A Hand To Poverty In America #End45

Poverty in America is rampant and all I need to do is look in my neighborhood and town to see it. It’s not usually publicized and it’s not promoted but it’s here and very real. Our local food banks are serving record numbers of families in our area.

Catholic Charities USA is working to end poverty in America with campaign #End45. 45 million people in America are living in poverty today – one in seven individuals. Poverty doesn’t discriminate. It often takes one misfortune or one missed paycheck to change an individual or family’s life and cause them to fall below the poverty line. #End45: Raise a Hand to End Poverty in America aims to raise awareness for the 45 million people living in poverty in the United States today and the millions of others in need or struggling to make ends meet. Join our mission to #End45 today.

Our area has been suffering greatly, just as many areas in the USA.  If we all join together we can make difference.  We can give each other a hand up to a better life, but first we need to recognize there is a problem.

That is great!! This is a topic that I am so passionate about–maybe even #1. It’s related to so many other issues!

It is so important to raise the awareness of AMericans about the poverty in this country. It should not exist and we can make a difference.

With all of the things we waste and buy in excess there should be no poverty! Its so unbelieveable to me, the amount of items we throw into a landfill but wont and don’t give to others!! This needs to change!

Once again the rich get richer (1 percent of the top 10 percent) are equal to 90 per cent of the rest of Americans. When is this injustice going to end. The rich should be taxed. How can you build a 100 million house and let people go hungry? I am glad you are addressing this in your blog.
