I fully commend Pat’s mission and the work that he has done to fine an alternative protein source, crickets. What is so special about about Chapul Cricket Flour? First it is non soy, dairy free, all natural, non-gmo AND Gluten FREE! This is huge for people with reactions to different food sources. The ingredients in this high protein flour? Tapioca flour, sweet rice flour, potato starch, Chapul Cricket Flour(Brown Crickets, Acheta Domesticus), sorghum flour, garbanzo bean flour, brown rice flour, hemp protein flour. Though it should be noted that if you have a shellfish or crustacean allergy, you may be allergic to this product. The flour is used in a 1 to 1 ration in replacement of white flour. Making this the perfect product for your baking needs.

    I had no idea that crickets were a complete protein with the nine essential amino acids, and I never thought about the sustainability possibilities. Sounds awesome! The website is very informative, too!

    I learned that there is 15 % more iron in this than spinach which is great since I always trying to get more iron in my diet as a vegetarian.

    Insects are an extremely healthy, delicious, and sustainable form of protein. Humans have evolved eating insects, and even today, 80% of countries around the world have them on the menu in some form.
