Hometown Petoskey Michigan – Simply Sweet By Jessica

This year I want to focus on my home towns.  I say towns because I live in Northern Michigan and the towns are small.  Petoskey, happens to be the larger town next to mine with some great stores, restaurants and bakeries.  I’m thrilled to say that my daughter is working for Simply Sweet by Jessica.

The desserts made by the owner are simply to die for and are now being featured in local restaurants as well as her own shop.  Her shop carries delicious cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and macarons.  Jessica also creates wedding cakes and special event cakes.

My husband and I have made her dessert shop a date night stop.  We usually get a piece of cake to share.  We sit and talk in the calmness of her shop, and enjoy the complimentary flavored waters.  Oh, I almost forgot to tell you about her flavored waters.  Jessica keeps a cooler of ice water and naturally flavors the water with different fruits and herbs.  This is the perfect compliment to her sweet confections.

Simply Sweet is a very relaxing and enjoyable.  It’s a great place to sit, talk, and have a cup of coffee with your sweet treat.

The first time we were in the shop my husband and I tried a mini raspberry infused cupcake and salted caramel macarons.  These were both delicious and something neither one of us had had before.  The next time we were in we split a piece of her award winning carrot cake.  Dear readers let me just tell you this cake is swoon worthy.  The carrot cake is moist, covered in a melt in your mouth cream cheese frosting and if that wasn’t enough the outside of it is covered in chopped walnuts.  I THOUGHT this was my favorite until I was treated to a sampling of her other cakes.  Now I can’t pick a favorite.

If you’re in Petoskey, stop by and treat yourself to flavors you’ll never forget from Simply Sweet.  You can visit Simply Sweet on Facebook too.

I haven’t been to Petosky in many years. I was born and raised in Michigan. These desserts look so good. If I am ever in the area in the future I will surely be checking this out. God Bless

It is great to find a nice place like that. Cozy and sweet. I did back in a small town in Texas years ago.
