Last month my husband and I were scouting restaurants that we wanted to take company to when they came in from out of town. We live in a resort area and have a had a few newer restaurants move in to town. One of them is Tap30 Pourhouse. While they pride themselves on craft beers, they also have a great selection of ciders and other beverages.
The walls of Tap30 are lined with re-purposed pallets for a rustic look and hung on the walls to decorate are old beer taps, and a lite up board that shows the beers and ales they have on tap. The live board also shows how much of each product they have on tap.
My favorite drink is the Maeloc Strawberry Hard Cider from Spain. My husband has been trying assorted beers each time we visit.
After checking out the restaurant and enjoying a night out as a couple my husband and I brought 10 of our friends back the next week.
Tap30 doesn’t have a huge variety of food but what they have is delicious. The Taproom Mac and Cheese is delicious and hearty. One bowl will easily feed two people. They also have Totchos which is a spin off of nachos made with tatter tots instead of chips.
We started off our meals with what they call Pretzels, a pretzel breadstick served with Hefeweinzen Jalapeno Beer Cheese. The dipping cheese is nothing short of amazing. We have since tried many dishes from Tap30 and are impressed. We have loved it all.
Something that REALLY determines whether or not we recommend restaurant though is the quality of service. The first time we went, the restaurant was packed but we still had great service. The real question was would it still be great with a party of 12? The answer was yes! We couldn’t have had better service. So if you’re in the Petoskey Area stop in to Tap30 for cool drink and delicious food.
