November is National Adoption Month. I admire people who have fostered and adopted children. We were taught how important fostering is from the Bible. Joseph was chosen by God, to be Jesus’ foster father, or adopted father. Joseph took his role very seriously and kept Jesus and Mary safe.
When I hear people, most especially Christian people say things like, I don’t want children if they’re not of our bloodline, or when I hear people dogging gay couples for adopting it makes me angry. Whether or not I agree with people’s lifestyles it’s important that every child is loved. It doesn’t matter their gender, their color or religious beliefs. It matters that a child is cared for and loved.
This November if you’re thinking about adoption, pray on it. If this is your path God will lead you. If you’re not adopting then pray for those that would like to build a family to love and cherish for years to come. Pray that the children with out parents, who are cast aside and headed for a very poor start in their adult life will get a family to raise them.
We can all make a difference in a child’s life and adoption is a way to form a bond that will bless you and them for years to come.
