Shopping for a new car can be so frustrating, between finding the right car to fit your family and finding the car with the right accessories, all while thinking about your budget. I’m out the mom phase in my search but I’ve now fallen into the future grandma phase. When buying or leasing a new car you also want to think about where you might be in five years or so, so that you stay happy with your purchase.
By using the Cars.com website you’ll be able to search for cars by make and body style while also considering new vs. used and what you can afford. I have been looking at a Dodge Journey for about a year now and it’s hard for me to just dive in and pick a car. By doing my research on Cars.Com I’m finding I can save a lot of money by shopping closer to Detroit and lower Michigan instead of my local area.
I also found a larger choice of vehicles, year, color, and accessories. I want new but if I found a used one at a great deal I would snap it up. For my Dodge Journey, I require cloth seats. Leather is great but I have pets and they’ll just ruin them with their nails. Seating that is foldable is another plus because we sometimes still have extra people to take places.
Also important is that a car seat will fit in the back, rear facing position. I want one that has the lower latch anchors so that the seat stays put and is always in the safest place possible. In the past I didn’t have the latch anchors and the seats would come loose and wiggle, which is not offering your choild or grand child optimal protection.
The Cars.Com website also has an area for “How Cars.com Conducts Car Seat Checks” and that makes me feel good. They take the time to explain what the latch system is, provides information about different car seats you’ll be using as your child grows: Infant Seat, Convertible Seat, Booster Seat. Don’t be afraid to check out their Car Seat Section!
